The Word of God says that the Joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is a part of God’s nature and a gift to us His children. In fact it is a part of His kingdom. “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Rom 14:17. The Wisdom of Proverbs states the following “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” Prov 15:13 and “A merry heart doeth good [like] a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Prov. 17:22
